Recipe | Salt-kissed Buttermilk Cake {101 Cookbooks}

Well hello there. 2 posts in 1 week. I must be on spring break. The moment I saw this cake, I knew I had to try it. I am the not-so-big-sweet-fan-of-the-family. And ofcourse we are always trying to reduce our sugar intake. I made this cake {Salt-kissed Buttermilk Cake Recipe} on a raining afternoon (today). The compliments go to 101 Cookbooks by Heidi. It is wonderful and not too sweet. Perhaps even healthy. This is my 2nd try with whole wheat pastry flour and I do think it's an acquired taste of sorts. But we could adapt. A few changes I would make: definitely consider an 11in tart or pie dish. I think the pyrex baking square might be a little too thick if you are using a small size. Also I would pair it with a homemade sugar-free whipped cream {recipe forthcoming} or perhaps lemon curd. It cuts and looks more like a scone but the top part with raw sugar, large sea salt and raspberries was heaven.
