One of my favorite childhood memories is going under the deck at my cousins' in search of the A-TREAT cooler on the 4th of July. If you grew up in Southeastern PA, then you know A-TREAT drinks quite well; the unique flavors, the sweet and cold sip. The first drinks at the picnic usually gone were the Red Cream Soda and Black Cherry. Grapefruit, Sarsaparilla, Rootbeer, and Grape hung on for a while. But I always loved the Orange Soda. There is something about Orange soda that brings break great childhood memories. Even at (almost) age 4, Avery knows soda is a sweet treat. The fact that it's really crappy for you doesn't make it less appealing to her. So imagine my delight when a recipe for homemade orange soda popped up on my pinterest account. Score. And we always have tons of oranges here since they are a staple for smoothies. Let me just say this was a delicious drink. I did think the results were a bit sweet, so I made some quick changes: for the 2 cups just use 1/4 cup sugar. If you use the 1/2 cup sugar (like I did) add the whole liter of sparkling water.
